Since St. Patty's Day is an appreciated, yet non-celebrated holiday for my family, I thought it would be great to do a wonderful little treat for my daughter and her friend who's family is joining us for dinner tomorrow night. I still plan on making my Irish Soda Bread Muffins tomorrow morning but wanted a special treat my daughter could really enjoy.
I found this idea on Pinterest and thought it was absolutely adorable! It's cheap and easy too, which adds up to a project I am willing to attempt! The idea I followed had Rolos instead of gold coins, but since my grocery store has an amazing bulk foods section, I thought I would look for the gold coins that are found at the end of the rainbow. I was in luck! It only cost me about $1.30 for 13 coins and $2.69 for the rainbow twizzlers. I didn't have any cute baggies or ribbon to make the treats extra special. You could easily dress up my cheap sandwich baggie with a cute ribbon or fancy bag (I just used what I had on hand).
Items needed:
Rainbow Twizzlers
Rolos or chocolate gold coins
baggies
cute ribbon
I hope everyone has a fun and safe St. Patty's Day!!
